The National Pension and Regulatory Authority (NPRA) has organized pension's awareness meeting for institutional heads in the Central Region to ensure full participation of formal and informal sector workers in the national pension scheme and guarantee their income security after retirement.
The meeting which was organized in Cape Coast is expected to help create awareness's on pensions and provide a platform for engaging stakeholders in the development of Ghana's pensions industry.
At the meeting, the Takoradi Assistant manager for corporate affairs Mr.Seth Sackey emphasized the need for wives to include their husbands with the children in the Social Security Network Insurance Trust (SSNIT) contribution.
He disclosed that, it is very pathetic to see a wives' SSNIT contribution plan with all her children having their share excluding the husband which mustn't be so.
He said, SSNIT contribution is not for husbands alone , hence appealing to the wives to include their husbands in their contribution.
Speaking in an interview with Anaafi Kokooto he stressed that, as far as SSNIT contribution is concerned , wives must respect their husbands since they sometimes change their SSNIT contribution plan to exclude the wife due to small problem in the family.
He then urged husbands to be patience when it comes family issues and SSNIT and should not exclude their wives in their contributions.
